Training model

Given the lack of IR faculty in East Africa, we have had to find other ways of bringing the necessary expertise to local trainees. Our training model is based on teams of IR physicians, nurses, and technologists that travel to East Africa for two week teaching trips on a monthly basis. These teams are often joined by medical students and radiology trainees with an interest in global health. Our model was published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR) in December 2019.
